Izusan Shrine Izusan Shrine is also the birthplace of Izu place names. Since it is the place where Minamoto no Yoritomo and Hojo Masako were united, it is also famous as a shrine of Marriage. In the Edo period, it was called Izu Daigongen, and it is a shrine with a history that Tokugawa Ieyasu also visited. If you climb the long stone steps to the precincts, you can enjoy a wonderful view overlooking Atami City and the sea. It takes about 1 hour to get from the main shrine to the main shrine via the Haruka Shrine, Hakusan Shrine, and the Yumeijin headquarters. It is also recommended to visit the temple while slowly climbing the mountain road. About 800 steps below the main shrine is the Sashiyu Shrine, where the god of hot springs is enshrined. Every year, a grand festival is held for 3 days from April 14 ~ 16, and many people visit. Address: 〒413-0002 Shizuoka Prefecture Atami City Izuyama 708-1 Phone number: 0557-80-3164 Access: From JR Atami Station, take a bus bound for Nanao for about 10 minutes → get off in front of Izusan Shrine Parking: Free (for 5 cars) * The number of stairs of 837 steps is the number from "Izuyama Beach" (near the running hot spring) to the main shrine. (It takes about 200 steps from the city road where the bus stop in front of Izusan Shrine is located to the main shrine / about 600 steps from National Route 135 to the main shrine) * Please note that if you go to "Hongu" from the main shrine / Izuyama Folk Museum, it will be a mountain road.

Atami Castle Atami Trick Art Labyrinth Museum Atami Castle towers over the summit of Mt. Nishikigaura, a scenic spot in Atami. The Tenshukaku Observatory, where you can enjoy a 360-degree panorama, is the best viewing point in Atami where you can see not only the city of Atami City, but also Yugawara, the Manazuru Peninsula, Hatsushima and Oshima floating on a clear day, and the Izu Peninsula in the direction of Ajiro and Ito. In spring, it is known as a famous place for cherry blossoms, and in summer, you can watch the fireworks festival from the castle tower as if you were a prince. (Cherry Blossom Festival is late March ~ early April) In the castle, there is a samurai culture museum that exhibits armor and swords, a ukiyo-e shunga museum, an Edo experience where you can change into Edo costumes and take pictures, a jet foot bath 120m above sea level, a free game corner, etc., so there are plenty of highlights and fun! At the Atami Trick Art Labyrinth Museum, an annex of Atami Castle, you can enjoy a very mysterious trick art where you can feel the three-dimensional two-dimensional paintings. About 40 pieces of various trick art such as sea creatures, dinosaurs, beasts of prey, and jaws are on display. Not only to look at the art, but also to take interesting pictures, experience the illusion of being a giant or a dwarf, see, touch, shoot, and have a great time! Lose track of time and get carried away with tricks. It is a place where you can have an exciting experience with your family, friends, and couples, no matter who you come with. [Odawara Flower Garden] 2024 Ume Plum Festival ~About 300 varieties and 500 plum trees are in full bloom~ The "Ume Plum Garden of the Mountain Stream" is a colorful Ume Plum Garden that boasts the largest number of varieties in the Kanto region, with about 500 Ume plum trees of about 300 varieties planted from early to late blooming. This year's theme is "The Shape of Flowers ~The Individual Charm Created by Petals~". Here are the differences in the shape of the flowers and the way they bloom for each variety. Please enjoy the beauty of the delicate Ume plum. In 2024, keep an eye on Ume Plum! This year's theme is "Red Ume Plum ~Bright Flower Ume Plum~", and we will focus on Ume Plum. The difference between "red Ume plum" and "white Ume plum" is not the color of the flower, but the color of the pith when the trunk of the tree is cut. This year, we will focus on surprisingly unknown ways to distinguish them and the characteristics of "Ume Plum". Please enjoy the charm of "Red Ume Plum" at the quiz rally and explanation board set up in the Ume Plum Garden.

Omiya pine tree Statue of Kanichi Omiya Since the Meiji era, many literary giants have lived in Atami, where they have written masterpieces. Among them, the most famous is the novel "The golden demon(Konjiki Yasha)" by Koyo Ozaki, which was published intermittently in the "Yomiuri Shimbun" and "New Novels" for six years from the 30th year of Meiji 30. The song "Omiya pine tree" named after this novel and the song that begins with "Walking on the coast of Atami..." became one and spread explosively, and the main character "Kan'ichi and Omiya" became a presence that captured the hearts of the people as if he were a real person. The "Kan'ichi and Omiya Statue" and "Omiya pine tree" are located along the national highway on the coast and are visited by many people as tourist photo spots. Jukoku Pass It is said that the Jukoku Pass got its name because it saw ten countries (Izu, Sagami, Suruga, Totoumi, Kai, Awa, Kazusa, Shimousa, Musashi, Shinano and Goto< Oshima, Niijima, Kozushima, Miyakejima, and Toshima >). From the top of Mt. Nichikane, you can see Mt. Fuji to the north, Suruga Bay to the west, and Sagami Bay to the east. It seems that there have been many people who have tried to paint this vision with a paintbrush for a long time, but it is said that they could not stand the size and beauty of this project. There is a cable car ride to the top of the mountain and back. It is about one and a half hours from Himenosawa Park, and you can also visit it by trekking while enjoying nature. Azaleas are in full bloom in spring, a cool breeze blows in summer, ripple pampas grass ears flutter in autumn, and warm plateau sunshine welcomes you in winter. * "Dog Run in the Sky" has resumed on November 11, 2023! Atami Ginza Shopping Street Ginza Street in Atami was once crowded with many tourists as the center of Atami. Use the Atami Chamber of Commerce and Industry in a building that operated as a bank until 1975. The heavy and retro building retains the atmosphere of that time. When you walk along the Ginza shopping street, you will encounter the same Japanese scenery as in the past, such as Dried fish hanging from the eaves, coffee shops that continue to operate as they were in the Showa era, and traditional Japanese confectionery stores. Recently, restaurants that are popular for seafood, cafes using local ingredients, sweets shops such as "Atami Pudding", Matcha "Atami Satori Honten", luxury Montblanc "Raw Silk Kiito", gelato, and guesthouses that offer interaction between locals and travelers have also opened, making it a street where you can feel the renovation. Address: 〒413-0013 Ginza-cho, Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture Access: About 20 minutes on foot from JR Atami Station

I went to the "Muttoni World Exhibition" held at the Museum of Dreams, which is a 20-minute walk from Hachioji Station. This is my third time at my favorite exhibition! At the "Muttoni World Exhibition", there are many karakuri music boxes on display, and each box takes about 5~20 minutes. By the time I finished watching the whole thing, two hours had passed, but I had a strange feeling that I was in a dream the whole time. A picture is worth a thousand words! Children up to junior high school students can watch for free, adults can watch for 750 yen, and people over 65 years old can watch for 350 yen. I highly recommend that you take a ✨ look!!

Hashiriyu The "Hashiriyu" facing the sea of Sagami is a rare side-hole type hot spring in Japan, and is one of the three major ancient springs in Japan. It was discovered about 1,300 years ago, and was named "Hashiriyu" because of the way the hot water gushed out from the mountains and ran down to the coast as if it were flying. As Minamoto no Sanetomo sang, "The early arrival of the hot spring in the south of Izu no Kuniyama is a sign of the gods," before the Meiji era, it was worshipped as a sacred hot spring at Izuyama Shrine. The 5-meter-deep cave still gushes out 170 liters of 70-degree hot water per minute, and the source is a mysterious sight. Address: 〒413-0002 Shizuoka Prefecture Atami City Izuyama 604-10 Phone number: 0557-81-2631 (Izuyama Onsen Tourism Association) Access: About 5 minutes by bus bound for Mt. Izu and Yugawara from JR Atami Station→ get off at "Aihatsubashi" → about 10 minutes on foot Parking/None * It is not a bathing facility.
