Former Hyuga Family Atami Bettei (Former Hyuga Bettei) Toshibei Hyuga, who was active in Asian trade, completed the construction in 1936 (Showa 11) as a separate residence. The design of the wooden two-story main house is by Hitoshi Watanabe, who is known for his designs for Wako in Ginza, Tokyo, the Tokyo National Museum in Ueno, Tokyo, and the Aichi Prefectural Office. The basement was designed by Bruno Taut, a world-renowned German architect, and is the only surviving architectural work left by Taut in Japan. It consists of three rooms: a social room with plenty of bamboo and paulownia, a Western-style room with a staircase as part of the room, and a Japanese-style room, and is designed with the beauty of Japanese style such as Katsura Imperial Palace and Ise Jingu Shrine in mind. After Mr. Hyuga's death, it was carefully used as a recreation center for a private company, but in 2004 (Heisei 16), when it was facing the danger of demolition, it was acquired by Atami City with a donation from a philanthropist living in Tokyo. In 2006, it was designated as an important cultural property of Japan. More than 80 years have passed since its completion, and there has been an urgent need for repair projects to improve damage and earthquake resistance due to deterioration over time, and a large-scale conservation and repair project was carried out from FY2018 (Heisei 30) to FY2021 (Reiwa 3). In August 2022, it was reopened to the public with as much preservation and reproduction as possible of the condition it was in at the time of construction. * The tour is a complete advance reservation system (online reservation only). For details and reservations, please check the Atami City Office website. Atami Nanayu When you walk around the city, you can discover the steam gushing out from various places on the slopes. It is a source called "Atami Nanayu". It is also recommended to visit the source and experience the long history and hot spring atmosphere. (Commemorative Stamps are installed on each of the seven information boards.) ――[Oyukan Spring] has been a world-famous self-gushing spring for a long time. It is said that the "big hot water" gushed out six times during the day and night, and the ground seemed to shake as hot water and steam alternately erupted violently. It gradually decreased from the middle of the Meiji era and stopped in 1923 (Taisho 12)) (it sometimes erupted again during a major earthquake), but in 1962 (Showa 37), it was preserved as a cultural property of the city and continues to this day. * Currently, hot water is artificially gushed out approximately every 5 minutes, reproducing the appearance of the large hot water gushing of yesteryear. Address: 〒413-0018 Lodging Town, Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture Phone number: 0577-86-6232 (Cultural Facilities Office, Lifelong Learning Division, Atami City) Access: About 20 minutes on foot from JR Atami Station / About 20 minutes Use Yu ~ Yu ~ bus from JR Atami Station→ Get off at Oyuma Kosen → about 3 minutes on foot Parking/None ●"Ozawa no Yu" The hot springs in the gardens of Yazaemon Sawaguchi, Bunjiro Fujii, and Sanzaemon Yonekura were called "Heizaemon no Yu", but the local people called it "Ozawa no Yu" because it was located in Ozawa. It is said that, as with "Seizaemon's hot spring", if a person called it in a loud voice, it would spring up a lot, and if a person called it in a small voice, it would spring up small. In this Ozawa hot spring, you can make and eat hot spring eggs with the steam that blows out. Locals also say that it is delicious, and it is a little famous place in Atami. * Renewal completed on July 1, 2023. There are now two steaming kettles and a new bench. Address: 〒413-0013 Ginza-cho, Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture (in front of Tenjin Shuten) Phone number: 0557-86-6218 (Atami City Parks and Green Space Division) Access: About 15 minutes on foot from JR Atami Station Parking lot / There are several paid P cars in the vicinity In addition to these two facilities, there are "Bath Bath Bath", "Sajiro no Yu (Eye Bath)", "Seizaemon no Yu", "Nonaka Yu", and "Kawara-yu". * Atami Nanayu is not a bathing facility.

Shinsui Park Moon Terrace Shinsui Park continues south from Sun Beach. Atami City is a sister city to Sanremo City in northern Italy, and because of the similarity in topography and cityscape, it is developed with the image of a resort area in the northern Mediterranean. The "Sky Deck" in the first construction zone, which is inspired by the "Côte d'Azur in southern Europe," was made of bricks, the second construction zone "Rainbow Deck," which was inspired by the "Sanremo Rivera Coast in Northern Italy," was built on stones, and the third construction zone "Nagisa Deck," which is connected to Nagisa Small Park by a pedestrian bridge, was inspired by the "Neapolitan Coast of Southern Italy" and was planted with flowers and trees. It is a place that is popular with locals and tourists alike as a place for walking, sunbathing, holding events, and commemorative photos. ・March 1997 (1997 (Heisei 9)) Completed the first construction zone (approx. 170 × 50 meters deep) including Moon Terrace ・ 2000 (Heisei 12)) The second construction zone (138 meters) was completed in March ・In April 2009 (2009 (Heisei 21)), the third construction zone (approx. 160 × depth 40 meters) was completed. < nickname> ・ 2003 (Heisei 15 (Heisei 15)) In September, the first construction zone "Sky Deck" and the second construction zone "Rainbow Deck" were decided. ・ In October 2009 (Heisei 21), the third construction zone "Nagisa Deck" was decided.
