In April, I went to "Mandalaji Park" in Konan City, Aichi Prefecture. It is a famous wisteria spot next to the ancient temple "Mandara Temple" in Owari, which was built at the request of Emperor Go-Daigo in the first half of the 14th century. It was the beginning of April, and although it was not in full bloom, the flowers that had just bloomed were full of vitality and I was able to taste the beautiful purple color. I took this photo because there was a place where the wisteria flowers and the tower could be photographed with just the right balance. I was able to take a picture of the blue sky in the background just right.

COOL JAPAN VIDEOS Photo Contest PR
Apr. 18, 2023
Introducing the photos posted on "Everyone's Post"! This is a pickup post of the inbound tourism information SNS "Cool Japan Video". Today, I would like to introduce a post by "Camera Yang". The reflection of the wisteria trellis is a wonderful photo. Ashikaga Flower Park, located in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture, is a famous tourist spot that has been selected as one of the "10 Dream Travel Destinations in the World" and "Japan Night View Heritage". Wisteria, which is in full bloom from mid-April to mid-May every year, is one of the highlights. The 1,000-square-meter wisteria trellis, which is also known as the "Great Wisteria of Miracles," is a point not to be missed. The 150-year-old wisteria is a stunning beauty. In 2023, "Fuji no Hana Monogatari ~Oto Festival~" will also be held. (Period: April 12 (Wed) ~ May 14 (Sun)) You can enjoy not only wisteria, but also azaleas and roses (rose garden). From autumn to winter, illumination events are held that have been selected as one of the "Three Great Illuminations of the Japan". Illuminations with different productions for each theme reflect the park glitteringly. There are also restaurants and souvenirs in the park, making it ideal for families, couples, and groups. If you purchase advance tickets in advance, you can enter at a great price. Not only one-day tickets, but also tickets for the evening part only, so you can enter according to the time. Set tickets for the national Hitachi Seaside Park and Ashikaga Flower Park and Ashikaga City set tickets are also available. Please check the official website for details. ◆Ashikaga Flower Park◆ 【Address】〒329-4216 Tochigi Prefecture, Ashikaga City, Sakama-cho 607 【Access】 About a 3-minute walk from JR Ashikaga Flower Park Station 【Parking lot】Available (Free: 6,000 spaces)

Wow this is awesome! I went to Ashikaga Flower Park a while back and had a blast! It was a bit cold when I went but I made sure I got some snacks at one of the vendors. The park was quite a bit larger than I was expecting and the illuminations were really cool as well. I didn't think there'd be so much wisteria but the large trellises were really beautiful. The other flowers in the park were amazing as well obviously, but there's something about the cascading wisteria that just looks so fantastical. Even in this picture you can kind of see how they almost create waves with the lighting and the angle. It kind of reminds me of the Northern Lights, albeit only orange-ish in this photo. What a great photo though. Good memories here!

Aghhh! I wish I got to get out and see some beautiful illuminations this winter but with everything happening in the world it wasn't exactly possible. Really wanted to check out the one in Hibiya but next year will have to do. I know a lot of events were canceled this winter as well but things can hopefully start opening up again as vaccines start rolling out around the country. Slow process for now, but hopefully it starts to speed up soon. I'd like to visit some flower parks this spring, I know there are a few that have illuminations as well and my girlfriend would love to visit them and see the cherry blossoms and wisteria, so if everything goes well hopefully we'll get the chance. That and I'm seriously missing going out to festivals, so hopefully we can get some of those soon!
