【GOK SOUND Workshop】 June 13th A "PA and Recording Workshop" was held by Yoshiaki Kondo from GOK SOUND. From 1 PM to 7 PM, we enjoyed a full six hours! In a room at GA.KOPPER (commonly known as the Sandbag Room), live PA practitioners, musicians, those recording their own songs, and people running live houses gathered. At the beginning, a very important discussion on electricity, which is essential for handling equipment. Just in time, thunder rumbled outside the window ⚡️ After a break with bagels and baked goods, we experienced mixing songs recorded on analog tape! We freely adjusted the knobs, bringing in and cutting out the sound of specific instruments, balancing the audio. Watching the analog tape spin round and seeing how the sound changed with our hands was exhilarating. In the latter half, we improvised and recorded participants' original songs. Amid the good tension of being recorded, everyone's adaptability was impressive. Listening to the sounds we played back from the tape... Before we knew it, six hours had flown by. I was glad to see the two from GOK SOUND again this year. Thank you for the live PA the following day as well!! Nukazuke Workshop🥕 A "Nukazuke Workshop" was held to showcase local ingredients and inspire new ideas for processing them.💡 Under the guidance of Rieko Teramoto, who is from Gokase, participants first tasted the nukazuke prepared yesterday.🥢 There were 18 varieties in total!! Familiar vegetables like cucumber, carrot, and daikon sat alongside new flavor discoveries such as dried shiitake, konnyaku, and myoga.👀✨ Next, Teramoto demonstrated how to prepare the nuka bed in front of everyone, teaching about moisture levels and other details.📝 She then shared ready-to-use nuka beds for participants to take home, and everyone immediately began pickling the vegetables they had brought.😊 They said the pickles should be ready in about 12 hours, and everyone left excited to eat their creations, carefully taking their own nuka beds home.🥰 I can’t wait to try the nukazuke made by the participants next time.😍

Komu Museum of Art’s Wood Play Experience Market A workshop festival celebrating the village’s 100th anniversary The “Wood Play Experience Market” was held at Komu Museum of Art! Vendors from across Hokkaido gathered for a hands-on making event using wood and natural materials. When the museum opened at 10:00, visitors came to the event space without pause. We offered six experiences. Make a wooden kaleidoscope Make a wooden clock Make BUG BUG from nuts and seeds Make wooden brooches and keychains Make a wood shaker Make mushroom magnets. @do.mono @tek_toys Visitors chose beads and peered into the finished kaleidoscopes, walked around with insects made from acorns and pipe cleaners, and shook bean-filled wood shakers. On the clock faces, participants decorated not only numbers but many other embellishments. In one corner, poisonous-looking mushrooms and irresistibly cute mushrooms sprouted in abundance. Animal keychains and brooches, each with its own expression, were adorable.
